The food here is exceptional and very fresh! I've been a local customer here for years, popping in for lunch 1 or 2 times a week and the food has always been on point!! I highly recommend the beef steak on laffa bread and the shawarma!

I only tried the Shawana on pita which comes with a salad you build yourself and fries, it was really good and extremely filling. I can't wait to try their hummus.

Amazing food, the guys working here are great, and their baby chicken is the best! Also they have an amazing lunch menu, salad, soup and main course under $15, can't beat that.

When an Israeli tells you to ready your belly for the best shawarma outside of Israel, you listen and arrive hungry. Grill Point is in a neighborhood amongst many a Kosher market and eatery, but it has something a little special. Call it a "tribal" experience in Hebrew cuisine since all corners of the Middle East to Eastern Europe are represented. We ordered the lamb (obviously!) and were presented with little plates for the salad items up front that customers self serve. Sour pickles, spiced brined veggies, red and white cabbage slaw and beets were some of the options. They acted almost like a palate cleanser for all that drippy, fatty lamb we shoved into our mouths. It's impossible to be lady like with this food, although I tried and gave up. Know that there will be hummus and oil smeared all over your lips dripping down into your cleavage, pants leg or table top depending on how you decide to sit with this thing and your gender. My companion did a little shimmy dance between drizzles of tahini. It was hard to peel yourself off the seat afterward. The grapefruit flavored soft drink he recommended was a pleasant surprise because it was more like a nectar and hardly carbonated. I drank one. I could have drank at least 2 or 3. If there was Vodka or Arak involved, I would have had a brilliant cocktail. The only thing that put me off initially was the bits of meat, bread and salad items under the table and on the seat next to me from previous patrons. A little sweep and wipe down wouldn't have been a bad idea, but then again, with shawarma like that, leaving a mess must be the highest compliment. Lamb and L'chaim…so good.

My last experience at grill point was horrible
I had a pita shawarma that was without taste.
I've been there many times, and was never disappointed, maybe the owners was changed, but they need to step up to the
taste they had before.

Like many, I rely on Yelp reviews to eat at some new places. Yelp.. You failed me this time.. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but this was just disappointing and just think you should all be informed. Maybe I just had a bad experience; but I'll try to be as honest as possible. To begin, the food was very expensive, the chicken shawarma was a little over $11. But the place was pretty crowded, and hey; the reviews were great; so the food must be worth it right ?
WRONG. The chicken was not cooked enough, my friend couldn't eat his because he thought it was raw. The hummus was not bad actually. But again; that chicken.. It's sad that they put a lot, and usually that's a good thing, but in this case I had to eat a lot of something I didn't like. The fries that come with it caught my eyes, they looked good but the looks deceived me. They were soggy, not cooked enough, and just hard to enjoy.
If you're rich, and don't care much for quality taste, then enjoy. But if you're only willing to spend good money for good food, I highly suggest you avoid this place.

As Mark would say, "a curious tasting place". Overall decent food, but can often lead to an upset stomach.
They are usually out of at least something that you want, but I don't expect the highest things from them.
I'm still not sure why this place is hyped over, I guess the standards are getting lower every day. I mean, the food is definitely good, but by no means is this a 5 star quality place.
If I were to recommend something, I can't put my finger on it right now, but there IS something that should be done. Maybe a couple things .. this place has a lot of potential though. Perhaps they should give Mark a call for some suggestions.
Also — many of the workers are very kind and hard working people. Some stay up until past 3:00AM cleaning …
Also, you're not getting so much for your purchase. A bit overpriced!

Grill point is on point.
Awesome shawarma, got the baby schwarma on lafa with all the fixins. Large portion.
Only wish the white sauce was slightly thicker.
Seating is minimal unless you're sitting down and ordering from a waitress. Keep that in mind.

Had falafel platter a bit pricy for falafel which was good . Tried to substitute 2 sides for the better salads (eggplant etc..) they said no do for 14dollars no hummus or even a little sampler of hummus baba eggplant
I got decent Israeli salad and a selection of dead salads from pickle section.
Tehina very watered down
Shawarma looks excellent will be going back.
Don't be so cheap with your salads not everyone eats potatoes

I was very impressed by their lamb and turkey shawarma the first time I went there. This time I got the baby chicken shawarma (and I really am not a big chicken fan) and it was so good that I had to sit down to write this review. I also got the french fries which I love. They are more on the soggy side than the crunchy side, which I love, but some might not like them that way. And they have a real earthy (potato-ey) taste to them. I also got a side order of baba ganoush which was so creamy and rich that I thought they might have put mayo in so I googled the recipe. I don't think they did but this was the best baba ganoush that I have had. Everything that I ordered was a hit and I love the cole slaw and the purple cabbage slaw at the little bar in the front. Great food at this place. Parking is also not bad if you cross Main Street, there is parking right on Jewel Avenue. I got lucky and got a spot right in front of restaurant.

I genuinely love this place. My friend introduced me to this bc she can only eat at kosher food restaurants. I am up for anything and so glad I am! I ordered the baby chicken shwarma on a pita. It was amazing and it comes with side fries and unlimited amount of veggies! The french fries are thick cut and are crispy~ the shawrma is warm and they even ask you if you want hummus veggies and hot sauce. The veggie section are usually some hot pepper pickles, purple coleslaw (purple cabbage?), regular coleslaw and some more veggies. Lol, i'm not too familiar with their names, just trust me and try a bit of each!
The onlllllyyy bad thing about this is that, if you're not sitting in the formal dining area, the casual sitting place is very small. As in, the tables are kind of close together but if you want to sit, youll just have to politely ask the people near to give you more room.
I like this place, I always go back with my friend! Planning to bring my bf here.

Great place to eat real Mediterranean quality clean and tasty food, I personally like the lamb shawarma but whatever you order will be cooked and serve to perfection, place is very clean and the staff are friendly, defenatly the best place for Mediterranean quality food in Queens NY
Norman W. 8/07/2016
A hidden gem in my area , Baby Chicken Pita loaded , salad hummus & skhug tahini sauce both add so much flavor and their fries are prefect thick cut

Food is awesome! Fresh everything, great deal too! Came to this place when it was Hapina like 15 years ago. Stopped in the way back from NYC…great ideA!

No question . . . . This is the "Go To" place for Israeli food in the City of New York – Maybe, even the City of New York – I'm not kidding . . . . . Its very good. The Manager "Mickey" is a great guy. Ask for "Deni" & "Melky" – these are the guys who prepared your food. Act tough when you walk in and order your food with "Conviction" 😉 the other customers can be a bit rough and pushy 😉 LOL!

This is a great spot to stop by and grab a bite however my greatest concern is that there is not enough seating. I come here often and the only spot available is by the garbage can and not many want to sit and eat their food by the garbage can. In fact I came once just to grab the Shawarma pita however there was no seating and I had to sit down by the quote on quote restaurants section and pay $40 for something that I usually get for 10. All of this because there was no seating available. Also their mashed potato is very watery down it tasted very strange. Other than that there is a strange smell like an uncleanliness smell coming from the back however the food is really good.

Went in for Shawarma with friends. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. It was very filling. I probably should of left some for a second meal later. We will definitely be going there again real soon! PS – their homemade hummus is finger licking good!
Tal S. 3/15/2018
Dropped in to grab some shawarma and loved the combo meal they offer. It's plenty food to share for a decent price. Everything is kosher!! The chicken shawarma was delicious with the choice of whatever salads you want inside the laffa and a choice of side. There are seats for take out and to order with server who was very attentive! Overall I had great experience with delicious food and service and lastly a full and happy tummy.

Greeting- at counter
Service- fast at counter
Shwarma heaven- $15 for a big shwarma on homemade lavash bread. Can be enough for two. Choose baby chicken, lamb or turkey, chopped salad, hummus, tahini and french fries all wrapped up in bread. Free side salad choices from salad bar.

Best shwarma known to man kind! Strongly recommend to try this place.
Al P. 11/17/2015
Grill Point is pricey but the portions are huge and it really tastes amazing. Because of the prices, I stick to the pita sandwiches which come with French fries and a do-it yourself salad from their salad bar for $13. When I get this for lunch, I don't have to eat dinner or I have to save half for dinner because it's so filling. My favorite thing to get is the ADANA KEBAB. It's a ground lamb sausage that's grilled on a skewer. Add some hummus, tahini, parsley, and roasted eggplant for toppings and thank me later. It's really that delicious. Other great options are the baby chicken shwarma pita, lamb & turkey shwarma pita, and the lamb and beef kebabs in a pita. From the salad bar, I've only gotten the cucumber salad and the red cabbage slaw but everything looks very good. Their meat and potato soup is also very good. I also want to try their laffa, green pilaf, stuffed peppers, and couscous with chicken some day. Highly recommend Grill Point to everyone.

Very delicious food. Courteous waitresses and given liberal amounts of pita for wait.
Jason R. 6/14/2017
I've been eat at this place for years food is finger licking good from the bread to the meat down to the salad is always amazing and never a let down.
Aside from all that the place closes at midnight but there is a clean up crew till 3am making sure the place a spotless and food is fresh for the next day shift. Service is always always amazing very giving on extras just for a simply smile on your face.
Who ever you are Marcy I think your an idiot for giving such a negative review and say the pita was cold. They make the pita in house every day fresh. All you really had to do is ask for it to be toasted.

Anyone who goes to Queens College knows damn well about the miserable state of food on or near campus. I've been here a handful of times, the meat is very expensive. When I came here initially I paid like $24 for the baby chicken shawarma. Now I just get the falafel, which comes with a lot of food, fries, and salad for about $7. I think its pretty tasty.
J C. 5/01/2016
A friend of mine and his father brought me here to try kosher Israeli food for the first time in my life. To be honest, I had no idea what to expect or what to order. They recommended that I try the baby chicken shawarma. No you are not served a baby chicken.. atleast I hope not :).
I ordered the baby chicken shawarma wrap. The meal comes with free access to the salad bar – definitely take advantage! It's not your typical salad bar. You get all sorts of different salads (red cabbage, israeli salad, etc). Great option to get some fiber in your meal. Anyways the wrap arrived – it's a delicious pita bread wrap filled with chicken, fries, cucumbers, hummus, etc. I loved it. The pita bread was phenomenal and the flavors went together extremely well.
Unfortunately the prices are sky high. If you eat kosher, I'm sure you know that is expected of any kosher restaurant. If you're a newbie, just keep that in mind. Prices aside, the quality of food is fantastic. I would definitely return.

Came back to Grill Point after a year with an unstoppable craving for shawarma. I forgot what was better by this point, the baby chicken or lamb. Lamb. I copped out on a chicken shawarmizzle and my girlfriend got a lamb. After chowing down our food and trying each others, I came to the conclusion that the lamb is the way to go. The fries and salad on the side are great add ons, although I didn't have room to finish everything. The portions are just right, although, I wish I could just by a shawarma minus the fries :/ Anywho, I'll deff be back. This is my go-to shawarma spot for life!
Zack A. 5/14/2015
Simple and quick place for some take out hummus and falafels. Meats were cooked well and veggies were fresh.

Highly recommend to family and friends
Aviad M. 1/15/2017
This place is usually busy, it has a waited section and a self order section. I came here last week and ordered a laffa with chicken. I was only able to eat half of it it made me full really quick. However the laffa bread was a little rubbery this time and was a little tough to chew. But other than that a great place to dine.
